1895 And Smithsonian Channel Greenlight Heartland Tapes

FRESH from winning a Peabody Award for MLK: The Assassination Tapes, 1895 Films and US cable network the Smithsonian Channel have given the greenlight to a new documentary titled 9-11: The Heartland Tapes.

This one-off project will use footage and audio from local TV  and radio stations, air traffic control recordings and first responder calls from small towns and cities in the American Midwest, as well as in Newfoundland, Canada, where many planes were stranded, to tell the story of the the first attack ever on American soil. The documentary will be produced by 1895 founder and executive producer Tom Jennings (MLK:The Assassination Tapes/Sky Soldier, among others) and will premiere on September 11 of this year on the Smithsonian Channel.
