World Premiere for Thunderbirds Are Go! Reboot

Thunderbirds Are Go!, the relaunch of the iconic children's show which debuted on British screens 50 years ago, will bow as the inaugural #MIPJunior World Premiere TV Screening October 11 in Cannes.  Thunderbirds Are Go! is produced by ITV Studios and New Zealand-based Pukeko Pictures in collaboration with Weta Workshop (Avatar, The Lord of the Rings).

The upcoming 2014 edition of MIPJunior's world tradeshow of kid's content runs October 11 and 12, just ahead of global entertainment content tradeshow #MIPCOM, set for October 13 to 16th in Cannes. Both MIPJunior and MIPCOM are organized by ReedMIDEM.

Here are a few more details from the press release:
*MIPJunior's first ever world premiere screening coincides with the event's move to its new and larger Palm Beach location at the opposite end of the Croisette from the Palais des Festivals.
*The show is based around International Rescue, a high-tech global rescue service run by the Tracy family, which each week comes to the aid of those in peril or threatened by the forces of evil.
*The new 26 x 30’ series will bow on ITV and CITV Channel in the UK in spring 2015. ITV Studios Global Entertainment distributes it internationally.
* The new incarnation is using a mix of CGI animation and live-action miniature sets, an update from the original series which was shot using a combination of puppets, scale models and special effects,
