Netflix Unveils Rapid Scale Strategy

NETFLIX is aiming for global, not regional licensing deals, its chief content officer Ted Sarandos told an audience at the Edinburgh International Television Festival Sunday August 26. Netflix announced recently it would roll out its streaming service in the Nordic territories by the end of the year. Sarandos said rights negotiations were still “unfortunately” country by country but added Netflix was trying to select markets “where we think we can get to rapid scale.” The Nordic territories “big appetite” for English language content factored in the Nordic rollout decision.
