About
My Story
As a consultant and writer, I have been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, specialising in global media. My clients include mainly media organisations in Europe and Asia, including the Paris-based Reed MIDEM.
Working with the conference division of Reed MIDEM, I help organise and provide speakers for numerous MIP Market events in Cannes, including MIPTV's International Drama Co-production Lunch, featuring the crème de la crème of the world's top co-producers, and MIP TV and MIPCOM matchmaking and masterclass sessions.
As a correspondent for Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, World Screen, Locations International, Lions Daily News, and the Reed MIDEM family of publications (MIPTV/MIPCOM Preview and Daily News) I have interviewed many of the world's top media executives, major film and entertainment figures and have covered all genres and all territories around the globe. I also moderate and have been a speaker at media events in Cannes, Amsterdam and Seoul, and a judge at several international festivals. I have also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Amsterdam.
and on a personal note...
I hold Dutch and American citizenship and currently reside in France. I have been a student of Asian martial arts for most of my adult life and in my free time; I write fiction, and am currently finishing up a novel of murder, betrayal and religious fanaticism in the old and new Europe.
