Celtic Hit Farm Factor Reaps Euro Options
FARM Factor, the Irish/Welsh agricultural reality format that has been credited with making farming sexy, has been optioned to six European territories. Deals have been inked for France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, according to programme sales alliance Nordic World.
In Farm Factor, 10 real farmers on 10 real farms battle it out for the title Farmer Of The Year by showing off the technological and entrepreneurial talent required to survive in the marketplace today, as well as traditional skills like scanning pregnant sows, grinding hooves, driving tractors, and shearing sheep.
Farm Factor was originally devised by Good Company Productions in Ireland, then crossed to Wales where Cwmni Da developed it into a BAFTA-nominated series for Welsh-language broadcaster S4C. Cwmni Da has also forged a co-production partnership with Sony’s Gogglebox to sell and produce a UK version.
