Cold War World Premiere Opens Busan Fest


THE world premiere of Hong Kong police thriller Cold War is set to open Asia’s biggest and most influential film event, the Busan International Film Festival, on October 4.

The 17th edition of the festival features a line-up of 140 feature length Asian films, including 55 from South Korea, among them Pang Eun-jin’s thriller Perfect Number. The event will close with the Bengladeshi satire Television. Twenty Japanese films are also in the lineup, including samurai drama Rurouni Kenshin, and a dozen films from China, among them Stephen Fung’s Tai Chi.

Film Business Asia also reports that ChinaVision Media Group, the investment company of Chinese film entrepreneur Dong Ping, has come on board Stephen Chow’s Journey To The West and enlisted Chow in five additional films.
