TechnoLatinas Make Waves At Disrupt

TechnoLatinas, a growing band of South American entrepreneurial companies competing for attention, got plenty of it at the recent Disrupt San Francisco 2012.

The term TechnoLatinas was coined by Buenos Aires entrepreneur Ignacio Pena who noted the movement is being fuelled by a growing venture capital community, an increasing number of angel investors and a new pool of young talent eager to be part of the new generation of start-ups.

Also contributing to the TechnoLatinas trend is a downward spiral in the costs of running an online business. This is courtesy of increased broadband availability and the emergence of cloud services, TechCrunch, organizers of Disrupt, reports.
