Netflix Aims for 20 Original Series Annually

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos says the US streaming service has plans to become the largest producer of original content in the world.

Netflix will launch 20 original series a year, Sarandos announced this week at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York.  Marco Polo, set to debut tomorrow, December 12,  on Netflix, follows a raft of oriiginal titles including political thriller House of Cards, dark comedy Orange is the New Black, animation BoJack Horseman, horror title Hemlock Grove and new seasons of former network shows Arrested Development, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Killing and Trailer Park Boys.
